Research Proposal

In my earlier article I have explained you about how to create a thesis topic. In this article I am going to explain you about how to write the research proposal.

The research proposal is an important part of your thesis. And this is taken as the first chapter of your thesis too.

So, you have to do this very carefully. Because you are going to prepare this proposal by describing about your research problem that you are going to answer, what questions to be solved, what methodology to be taken, what kind of data to be taken and which way the collected data to be analyzed. This should be clear and easy to understand by the readers about what you are going to do.

Basically, after selecting a research problem you want to think how will you arrange your thesis? And you want to think how will you receive the acceptance from your supervisor to continue your research. That is the most important thing. If you are unable to receive the acceptance from your supervisor you will be fail at the very first step. Therefore, you have to pay a good attention for this part.

Firstly, you have to understand about the compulsory elements in a research proposal. Followings are the compulsory elements.
  • The background of the study.
  • The research problem.
  • The research questions.
  • The objectives of the research.
  • The methodology (The types of data).
  • The conceptual framework.
  • The significance of the study.
  • The chapter out line.
Now I will explain what you have to do in each section of your research proposal. Let’s move on to other sections in the research proposal.

I have decided to come up with separate articles to explain you about the above sections. Because then it will be easy for you to understand.

So, my next article is about how to write the background of the study. Keep in touch with that article too.
